About Us

Here's the Deal

We’re sort of obsessed with thighs.

Skinny ones, thick ones, dimply ones, muscular ones, thighs that take you where you need to go. That’s why, since 2009, we’ve devoted ourselves to creating and perfecting high-function, second-skin, super-cozy base layers that comfort, protect, and feel amazing, no matter where you’re going or what kind of thighs you’re using to get there. Because we know that when you’re at home in your body, you’re ready to take on the world.

Thigh Society Quality

Proudly designed in Canada, our shorts are masterminded by a team of fabric experts and knitting technicians with decades of experience in intimates and high-performance clothing. We also sourced the best yarns and threads, for premium-quality knits. That means that our slip shorts have wicking properties, a signature fit, and a feel that other shorts just don’t. Yes, we take the production process very, very seriously.

From Founder Marnie Rabinovitch Consky

The term chub rub sounds funny, right? But if you’ve ever experienced it, you know how excruciating it is when your inner thighs rub together in the heat—so much friction, so many prickly red rashes. That’s the feeling I’d gotten used to every summer. To combat it, I’d wear rubbery bike shorts, ill-fitting men’s boxer briefs, or shapewear that dug into my stomach. Or I’d coat the inside of my legs with messy powders, creams, and gels that needed to be reapplied every hour and came off on my clothes.

I knew there had to be a better solution, so I created Thigh Society. The response made it clear that these multipurpose shorts were way more useful than I’d ever imagined. Thigh Society is my way of offering garments that stay put, hug your curves, keep you dry, give you freedom of movement, and just make life easier. I want every pair to give you the feeling I discovered: relief.

How it All Started

Our founder had a pretty genius idea, and the rest is history:

2008

2008

Marnie wonders why men get boxer briefs but women only have shapewear or “boy shorts” (which still don’t cover the thighs). She dreams up non-shapewear, long-leg underwear for women: chafewear.

2009

Thigh Society launches as the first size-inclusive anti-chafe slip short (since chafing isn’t about weight). That year, the world marvels at the longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century; it’s allegedly unrelated, but we have questions.

2014

Introduced the Original short, which features seamless knitting technology for an even better fit, with no bulky elastics and 360° stretch. Customers breathe a thigh of relief.

2015

TS starts getting press attention—and glowing reviews that aren’t about thigh-rub. (Customers tell us they wear them for sleeping, modesty, working out, medical issues, and all-day lounging. We’re thrilled.)

2019

We launch the ultra-light Cooling short and products in different skin tones, for more diverse options. We also expand our size range to XS–6XL , reaffirming our commitment to all thighs.

2020

The Staple and the Cotton shorts make their debut; legs rejoice. Thigh Society is featured in Forbes, which feels very fancy.

2021

The much-beloved Original short gets a makeover and a relaunch; Thigh Society also expands our leg-length offerings. Our silky, multipurpose base layers continue to be a wardrobe essential.

2023

Everything’s better with pockets. We launched The Cargo short, made from the same fabric as The Original but with a sewn-in side pocket big enough to hold a phone or other small essentials.
