It’s almost impossible to not dance to these curve-celebrating anthems.

The Thigh Life > 6 Songs Celebrating Booty, Legs and Thighs

Here at Thigh Society, we make your legs, thighs, and booty feel their best. How? By making slip shorts that feel soft on your skin, embrace your curves and help you avoid painful things, like chafing. We celebrate bodies of all shapes and sizes, and also love music that makes you feel the most confident. Sometimes you need to hype yourself up, and these six songs are perfect to set the tone before a night out or even just for busting a move at home.

 1. Hips Don’t Lie – Shakira

Colombian singer Shakira has been a musical force for decades, captivating millions with her unique voice and songs that blend her Latin and Lebanese roots. She’s also a mesmerizing dancer, something that’s evident when you watch her music video for “Hips Don’t Lie.” This song is a celebration of the female form, and more specifically a woman’s seductive powers through dance (but we know all forms and genders should be equally celebrated, too). For Shakira, her hips shaking is also a signal to her that a song is ready for public consumption. “When my body reacts physically to a song, I know, if it’s a dance song, that song is done. So, I used to say to my musicians, ‘my hips don’t lie! Are they moving? They’re not moving! So this is not ready,” she said in an interview.

 2. Jennifer Lopez ft. Iggy Azalea – Booty

Since the start of her career, Jennifer Lopez’s derriere has been a hot topic, especially since it starkly deviated from the popular “heroine chic” look that dominated the early aughts. A booty icon for decades, it only makes sense that she would eventually come out with one of the most famous songs about booty, and she partnered with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea to make it happen. In the music video, both show off their ass-ets in swimsuits with wet, slicked-back hair. This song is fantastic to get ready for a night out on the town, especially with a friend you can practice dropping it down low with.

 3. Destiny’s Child – Bootylicious

Another ode to all things tush, “Bootylicious” is an empowering song about embracing your body and its curves. One of the most recognizable songs about booty, Beyoncé shared in an interview that the song was in response to criticism she received about her weight. "I remember when I started hearing people criticize me after I had put on some weight. I was 19. None of the sample clothes fit me. I was feeling a bit insecure from hearing some of the comments, and I woke up one day and refused to feel sorry for myself, so I wrote 'Bootylicious,'" she told Harpers Bazaar. Play this song on days when you need to remind yourself of the queen you are.

 4. ZZ Top – Legs

This 80s hit is all about confidence—a celebration of women’s legs and the attention they command. In the music video, a store clerk is harassed by everyone around her until she gets the confidence to fight back against her bullies. Her newfound self-assured personality is partnered with a short-skirt look to show that she will no longer tolerate people walking all over her as she’s now the “main character.”

5. Kelis – Milkshake

This song isn’t explicitly about legs, thighs or booty, but based on the lyrics we’re going to imagine it addresses all of these areas plus charisma in general. After all, Kelis describes herself as so alluring that she brings all the boys to the yard. Play this hype anthem with your friends the next time you’re having cocktails to remind yourself how irresistible you really are. Even though it’s not explicitly about butts, we think it’s one of the best songs about booty—especially since it makes you want to shake it.

6. Lucian Piane - Legs

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” has created an infinite number of confidence-boosting one-liners and songs. One of them is “Legs” by Lucian Piane, which lets us know that legs are what’s on the menu. The song embraces everything that makes our gams awesome, from calves to thighs and more. Listen to this hit before going on a date or to a party, especially if you’re wearing a short skirt or shorts. Your confidence will skyrocket and you will sashay into the function to show off, what else, your legs.
