They're both! We’re glad you asked. Think of them as a combination between an old-school slip, a boxer brief and a bike short: They give you coverage under short or too-sheer outfits, stop your inner thighs from trying to start a forest fire, and light smoothing with no VPL (the word “panties” weirds us out, too). Plus, the knit-in cotton-rich crotch means you can wear them without underwear if you want, eliminating the need for an extra layer.

Thigh Society shorts don’t compress you or suck you in like shapewear. Instead, they’re a lightweight, breathable, sweat-wicking essential you’ll reach for again and again.

One pocket away from obsessed

I purchased the cooling shorts for summer, 100% in love and obsessed. Wanted to try cargo for non sheer wear out and about. Literally the only complaint with the cargo short is there is only one pocket. One pocket away from in love and obsessed with this style. Otherwise still a great short, much lighter weight and stretchy comfy than other biker shorts. These will be my new lounge or run to the store shorts. Future styles, please place a pocket for each side!!

I always order the cargo because they’re like neutral bike shorts. What I appreciate the most is the little pocket. I can put a dog poop bag or money or lipgloss or anything that I need in that pocket and the one I have like 10 pairs of the shorts, the longer cooling ones, etc., but I go back to the cargo because of the pocket.
