Well, to start, they’re silky smooth under any outfit. But more importantly, if you run hot—and are one of those people who’s constantly setting the thermostat to “meat locker” temperature—these are going to be a revelation.

Our slip shorts are made of hi-tech fabric that lowers the body temperature. (If you want to get geeky about it, the flat cross-section of the yarn offers a wide surface area that quickly releases body heat from your skin.) The yarn texturizing process gives the shorts incredible breathability; the finished ultra-thin fabric is a breeze to wear, literally.

They're both! We’re glad you asked. Think of them as a combination between an old-school slip, a boxer brief and a bike short: They give you coverage under short or too-sheer outfits, stop your inner thighs from trying to start a forest fire, and light smoothing with no VPL (the word “panties” weirds us out, too). Plus, the knit-in cotton-rich crotch means you can wear them without underwear if you want, eliminating the need for an extra layer.

Size up if you have any thickness to thighs

TLDR: if you have any thickness to your thigh size up. The fabric seems stretchy enough to accommodate being slightly large, but may be too tight in the thighs and rip if you size down. Fabric is soft and breathable.

Full review - I'm usually a large in pants, but can do medium depending on the brand and cut. I purchased the M/L based on the recommendation to size up only if you have "juicy thighs". The M/L fits, but is snugger in the leg than I was expecting, which is not a problem I generally experience. The waist and hips fit fine and the fabric felt soft and breathable. I may have rated four stars, except that after wearing them for only a few hours they have a small hole in the corner where the crotch panel and and the body of the fabric connect. I can only assume this was due to pulling because of the tight thighs. For reference I only wore them to an office job with almost zero walking. Based on my experience I would say size up if you have ANY thickness to your thighs. My legs aren't particularly slim, but I wouldn't have considered them "juicy" either. I suppose that's the downside of using subjective terms; maybe a photo of what Thigh Society considers Juicy vs. not would have been more helpful (i.e. A and B both measure of x size, but A has sized up because of her juicy thighs). TBD if the rip will spread. I'll keep wearing them if it doesn't, but in general don't love wearing underwear with holes in them. I also purchased the Cotton, which I haven't worn, so it's unclear if this exclusive to the Cooling short or across the board for all models.

I want to love these

After much research, I decided to make a Thigh Society investment. As a thick thigh girly, all the previous slip shorts I purchased rolled and rode up on my thighs. I was very optimistic with The Cooling short. Feels like nothing, material is beautiful and definitely cooling. It was disappointing to have the thighs ride up after having them on for a few hours.

I LOVE THSES!!!

Not just for under dresses but also for under slacks that tend to stick to your skin while sitting and cause you to have to pull on the back of your slacks when you stand! (always looks so elegant!) I can wear them all day and forget they’re even there!
