Since the pandemic, the sartorial lines between sleepwear and regular daytime clothing have been blurred. Pajama-style clothing, especially pajama pants, have escaped the bedroom and can now be seen on the streets, at restaurant tables and during Zoom meetings. As work from home has become more popular, people are leaning into comfort without compromising style. While sleepwear used to be private and clothing we wouldn’t proudly wear outside, we now buy pieces that are nice enough to wear anywhere. Here’s how with the right styling, pajamas can be the ultimate daywear or nightwear.

 1. Cooling Leggings + Oversized Shirts

Our Cooling shorts are so incredibly popular that we decided to come out with Cooling crops in 17” and 21” lengths. This makes them the perfect sleepwear for hot sleepers, as the moisture-wicking fabric envelops your legs and pulls heat from your skin to keep you cool at night. We’ve all woken up frustrated and sweaty in the middle of the night and this is a great way to avoid that. Pair your sheer leggings with an oversized T-shirt for a comfy night of shuteye. If you like leggings so much that you want to wear them during the day, you can easily pair them with a skirt, a sweater dress or tunic for an elegant daytime outfit. Add some warm over-the-knee socks and you have a perfect winter look.

 2. Silk Sleepwear

Slipping into some silk pajamas after a long day is the most luxurious way to sleep. Perhaps because silk pajamas look and feel so great on our skin, we’ve decided to make this a daytime look in the last few years, because why wait until nighttime? A matching silk pajama set instantly transforms into a polished outfit when you add a tailored blazer, a heeled boot and gold jewelry. Navy blue, black and emerald green hues look especially glam as pajama sets, and will get you through fall and winter feeling like a million bucks.

 3. Robes For Day or Night

While robes used to be something we threw on after a shower or over our pajamas in the morning, stylish robes have now become a daytime fashion item. A silk or velvet robe worn over jeans and a basic T-shirt creates an effortlessly glamorous look, especially when they’re belted at the waist. Robes work beautifully as light coats on fall days that aren’t too cold yet, offering both practicality and style. Find your favorite robe silhouettes in a range of materials from light satin to warm wool.

4. Matching Sets

From beachy white ensembles to colorful monochromatic outfits, matching sets were everywhere this past summer. There’s just something very put together about your top and bottom matching, right? Matching pajama sets that look dressy are lifesavers for those who want to transition from video calls to errands to an afternoon nap without skipping a beat. These sets offer a put-together look with minimal effort. Whether it's a cozy knit set for winter or a lightweight cotton duo for summer, these pieces allow you to move seamlessly between home and the outside world. Slip on some sneakers with your matching pajama set to go get your mail or grab a hot beverage, all while still looking put together and comfy.

5. Slip Dresses

Slip dresses have become such daytime wardrobe staples we’ve almost forgotten their sleepwear origins. Their minimalist silhouette and soft fabrics make them perfect for layering with everything from a black turtleneck to a cozy cardigan. If you want to up the ante, a silk slip dress paired with a leather jacket and ankle boots offers a chic yet badass look. And if you want to sleep in a slip dress, there’s probably nothing roomier and comfier than a shape that moves with you easily as you count sheep.

6. Maternity Sleepwear

For expecting mamas, maternity sleepwear offers comfort andversatility, as pajamas often feature flexible waistbands and soft fabrics like bamboo or modal. This makes them perfect not only for restful nights but also for casual daytime wear that comfortably hugs your growing bump. Pair maternity pajama bottoms with a long cardigan and sneakers for a cozy work or weekend outfit. Plus many maternity sleepwear brands now design pieces that don’t scream “pajamas” in beautiful prints and versatile silhouettes ideal for all-day use for expecting mothers.
