We’re just a few short weeks away from the start of fall, which means we’ll be shifting towards warmer and cozier clothing soon. If the crisp air is inspiring you to update your wardrobe but you don’t know what’s trending, we have some ideas for you. Fall 2024 has bold and stylish trends coming up featuring exciting colors and fabrics.

Here are the seven key fashion looks you’ll fall for this fall.

Our Favorite Fall Fashion 2024 Trends

1. Burgundy

Burgundy, merlot, oxblood — deep reddish-purple hues are everywhere this fall and can be the chic color update your closet needs. Dabble in this dramatic hue with some accessories, say a wooly beanie, or fully commit to the color with a show stopping leather trench coat to wear all season long. This color is incredibly versatile and pairs well with neutrals, as well as other colors like blue or true red. If you want to really turn heads, go for a monochromatic look with a burgundy sweater and similar-hued pants.

2. Oversized Everything

Baggy clothing has been popular for the past few seasons, but this season we’re not just sticking to one baggy piece — we’re layering them. Think a maxi skirt paired with an oversized sweater or baggy jeans with a loose button-down top. There’s something extremely cool about being comfortable, and since so many oversized silhouettes are trending simultaneously, why not pair them together?

Layering tip: Thigh Society shorties are ideal for transitional weather, acting as an extra warming layer on chillier days. Our Staple shorts are especially cozy and velvety-soft, while our Cooling shorts come in longer lengths (17 and 21 inches), making them a great option to wear with boots. While they add an extra base layer, our shorties are also high performance, preventing your thighs from rubbing together uncomfortably.

3. Moto Boots

Boots are the foundation of a great fall outfit as they help us stay warm and easily navigate the rain and snow that come with the season. This season, wide moto boots are trending and look cool with everything from skirts to leggings to midi dresses. Black is a great color for boots, but you can also get your moto boots in brown or even our aforementioned favorite burgundy color.

4. Camel Suede

Every year we get excited to wear suede in the fall and this year this material is particularly popular in tan and camel tones. Invest in a suede camel jacket to get you through the approaching cooler days or stock up on camel accessories — a clutch, a scarf ,or a hat are a great way to update your look for the season. It’s also such a versatile color that you’ll be reaching for camel pants and skirts all the time, either to wear with brights or neutrals like black and white.

5. Maximalist Knitwear

Sweater weather is arriving soon and this year we’re not just sticking with single-tone pieces but instead going maximalist — think multi-color knits and exciting patterns. On a dreary day, a bright sweater can really add some fun and vibrancy to your routine. Get creative with bold prints, neon stitching and bold motifs to take your knitwear from casual to stunning.

7. Chocolate Brown

Move over black, there’s a new neutral in town: chocolate brown. This rich color looks rich on a wide variety of complexions and can be worn monochromatically or paired with hues like camel, blue, or green. It looks even better when you pair your look with some chocolate brown moto boots. Our Cargo shorties come in Raisin, a  rich brown colorway, which can be layered under a chocolate brown skirt or dress, or worn alone at home when you’re relaxing. Plus these shorts have a pocket that can be used for anything from a credit card to lip balm to your phone.

8. Lace Maxi Skirts

Lace maxi skirts are definitely having a moment this fall and can pair with everything from a chunky knit sweater to a tailored blazer. For the ultimate fall-ready look, pair booties with a lace skirt and a maxi blazer (almost dress length, but not quite) for a sheer and sexy look that still has enough coverage to be comfortable. A cream lace maxi dress is also beautiful, especially when paired with other pale winter hues, like a cream cashmere turtleneck sweater. It’s easy to wear leggings (or Thigh Society shorties) underneath a skirt and you’ll get a lot of mileage out of this piece.
